The Government of Gujarat vide GUJARAT ORDINANCE NO. 1 OF 2024, has issued
An ordinance to amend the provisions of the Acts made by the State of Gujarat to give effect to the references to Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 in place of reference to the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and the Evidence Act, 1872 in the said Acts.
• Amendment were made in the Schedule serial No.66 under Gujarat Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2019 the following substitutions were made:
In section 25, -
o In sub-section (4), for the words “within the meaning of sections 175 and 176 of the Indian Penal Code”, the words “within the meaning of sections 210 and 211 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (45 of 2023)” shall be substituted;
In sub-section (5), for the words “within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code”, the words “within the meaning of section 2 (28) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023” shall be substituted; Please refer ordinance for more details.
